Protectors of the Summoner

A TTRPG that was created for the 2025 Gacha TTRPG jam, my first time creating a whole new system from scratch, the game is rules light,  everything is resolved with a d6, the battle system is simple and is based off of JRPGs.

What I'm most proud of with this project is how I implemented character advancement. In old gacha games, when you evolved a character, using certain material characters, you'd not only gain an advancement in abilities and stats, but they'd also take on a new appearance. Maybe their sword lights on fire, maybe they get wings, etc. My priority was to encourage players to figure out how their character grows not only in powers, but also appearance.

Another thing that I'm proud of is how I implemented character 'classes' (known as types). In earlier gacha games, it feels like there were a lot more types of characters you could obtain. I wanted to represent the various types of character you'd find from the heroic warrior, to the fearsome dragon, to the lowly mob you collect only to immedietly sell or fuse into the characters that actually matter to you.

I still have some more ideas for this game, but I think I've got it in a pretty good shape for the jam, maybe next time I'll look for someone to collaborate with to work the art and in arranging things better.
